About 2 wks ago the Lord told me to go back to a prophetic word I released in an Okla. City church in Aug '97. That word said, "I am about to visit this place. You will see a Visitation in your church. Therefore, you must prepare by repenting. True repentance always precedes an acceptable offering. And an acceptable offering always precedes a Visitation. Make for yourselves an altar in your homes. Bring your sacrifices to that altar.your sacrifices of repentance and worship. Then I will deal with you here at your church. But I am watching closely your humility because it's your humility that will prepare the way for true repentance. Surely, I will visit this place."
And then He said 2 wks ago, "The visitation is coming to a close." After I was given that word 12 yrs ago I did a study on visitations. We get our word "episcopal" from it, which means overseer, investigation, inspection. We have been inspected by the Lord for 12 yrs now to see what we've been doing with ourselves, our neighbors, our money, and our church. Lk 19:41-44 Jesus says "If you had known in this day, even you, the things which make for peace! But now they have been hidden from your eyes. For the days will come upon you when your enemies will throw up a barricade against you, and surround you and hem you in on every side, and they will level you to the ground and your children within you, and they will not leave in you one stone upon another, because you did not recognize the time of your visitation." They didn't really know who was walking in their midst, looking things over.
He has been assaulting everything in our lives that we've put any trust in for our peace that didn't come from Him. Jerusalem suffered destruction because they were oblivious to God's timing. Now, we will not only survive destruction, we will flourish because He is distributing gifts, callings, and promotions for the purpose of destroying our enemy. True peace is elusive to those who still live in the fear of death. And this fear of death can lead us to addictions or pride if we've not submitted to Jesus who "through death.might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the devil." (Heb.2:14) Reading on in verse 15, it says "and release those who through the fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage." Simply put, we're stuck in perpetual sin if we remain in fear. For 12 yrs we've faced down death & the things that brought a fear of it so it will not harm us anymore. That was the purpose of the wilderness for the Triumphant Reserve that God is about to release. So now we're awaiting the fulfillment of all His promises.
