War Begins in the Soil
Recently I was admiring my friend's flower garden. It was so lush and beautiful with hearty, colorful blooms. She began telling me how she had to replace the rocky soil with good rich soil three feet deep so that new plants would have the right conditions to grow. It reminded me of the parable Jesus told of how the sower plants the word, and depending upon the type of soil it is sown into will determine the outcome of the harvest. Mk.4:20 Amp. says, "And those seeds sown on the good (well-adapted) soil are the ones who hear the word and receive and accept and welcome it and bear fruit some thirty times as much as was sown, some sixty times as much, and some even a hundred times as much." Jesus even promises multiplication on what is sown if sown on good ground.
God wants to grow many productive and good things in our lives, but the soil we are dealing with may not be right for new growth to come forth. Just like my friend had to prepare the ground in order to see the harvest, Jesus comes in as the master gardener to clear our ground. What is God after in your soil that needs to be cleared out? Rocks, weeds, thorns all come in to choke out good seeds so that our belief system gets derailed from what God teaches, so that we will think negative about our lives instead of having hope...that darkness will be enthroned over our thought life instead of living from the light of His righteousness over us. The enemy is always at work to steal the word from taking root. The reason he works so hard is that he has seen every harvest that God has been a part of in history. Your harvest will move out the spirits of darkness and he knows you will be empowered to change everything around you.
When your harvest comes forth, you are not just getting prayers answered, but you are multiplying transformation and goodness into the earth. This is why Jesus was always looking at a person's faith because faith is how we overcome the world. "For this is the victory that overcomes the world, even our faith" (1Jn. 5:4). Jesus taught that "without faith it is impossible to please God. He that comes to God must believe that He is and He is a rewarder of those that diligently seek Him." (Heb.11:6) God wants to see His works displayed in the earth and we as sons and daughters are the ones to do this. Each generation, every person has to fight what the Bible calls a good fight of faith. Jude 1:3 tells us, "Earnestly contend for the faith that was once delivered unto the saints." Contend is a war word, not a peace word. You have to war for this and your war is against the powers and rulers of darkness. Just as a farmer has to war against certain elements and conditions to keep his crops producing, you and I must stay very active using our faith in order to see increase in our lives.
Where would you like to see a fruitful harvest? For some it may be with relationships. For others it may be a health issue, a financial situation, or freedom from an addiction. So many times we see things in our lives that aren't working, but we continue doing the same thing and praying the same prayers and wonder why God is not coming through for us. You don't have to live this way! Do a soil check on your heart and soul. Maybe you have allowed weeds to grow up and choke out the harvest of something good. There is so much unbelief and anti-christ spirit rising in the earth that soil conditions in so many hearts are in danger of only reaping hate, strife, division and evil. The Bible says you overcome evil with good, but if you don't have good soil conditions for the good to take root then there is no way to overcome evil.
As parents we need to teach our children how to tend their own garden so that they will have so much goodness growing in their lives that they will be empowered to overcome evil. Dan and I worked very hard to help our children to stay away from negative words about themselves. We would counteract those words with positive words of the goodness that they each carried. Those seeds took root and our girls are producing beautiful, lush gardens of their own, helping to transform lives with their faith.
God is after something in the earth that will only come as we keep our ground clear and ready to receive seeds to bring forth an abundant rich harvest. Are you changing the atmosphere where you work and with your work? You should be because that is where God has planted you. What kind of difference are you making in people's lives? As you are planted in people's lives then your very presence should be inspiring change. Do you pray for your children and grandchildren so that they will overcome every form of darkness that tries to overwhelm their souls?
This is how our faith works. Pray, then take action releasing your belief in what God can and will do for those you pray for. Faith works by love so deepen your love for others to reveal the heart of God in the earth. Darkness is all around, but God's love in you shines brighter with a power that cannot be hidden. Shine forth and release your faith!!
